21st September: 6.30pm
The Little Mermaid's first iteration (1989) as a white woman stole concepts from Ancient African history. The new version of her as a Black woman was condemned and trolled in certain quarters and affected its box office performance. "Community tales" Storytelling: Mami Wata the African Goddess of Water:

On Saturday 7th October, join Michelle for an author-led session where children will be introduced to the story of Mami Wata, an African water deity who inspires us to connect to our elemental and environmental surroundings, in particular our much-loved river.
Magic is the game. Storytelling is the name. Nature brings its fame. Morden Hall Park holds the frame.
